Construction in Westwood Hills generally requires a building permit unless you are undertaking minor repairs such as: painting, decorating, minor landscaping, patching and maintenance. You need a permit for all of the following:
Demolishing a structure
Major landscaping
Replacing a roof
Installing exterior mechanical equipment
Replacing windows
Adding on to an existing structure
Building a porch
Replacing an air conditioner compressor and moving its location
Installing siding
Building a fence, retaining wall, or installing a hedge
Installing a skylight
Installing a detached children’s playhouse
Driveway replacement
Construction of a dormer
Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical work
Building a deck
